The Nichika 167F is a hybrid swimbait that lets you easily adjust its buoyancy using the hard-material head, while only the soft-material tail moves with a very natural action. It works across a wide range of retrieve speeds - from dead slow to fast—making it a highly versatile natural-style swimbait.
The basic action is a slow retrieve above the bass’s line of sight. It maintains a horizontal posture, and the fish-tail swings side to side in a steady rhythm. The front body follows with a subtle, lively wobble without unnecessary movement. It truly looks like a relaxed, unaware baitfish swimming along.
Even the smartest big bass in heavily pressured backwaters of major lakes are triggered into striking. In tough conditions, the Nichika 167F often becomes the standout lure. Thanks to its natural look combined with a strong presence, it produces reactions that outclass many other lures. There are bass you can catch only with the Nichika 167F - a natural yet highly appealing hybrid swimbait.
How to Use
1. Dead-Stick (Letting it Sit) : A proven technique especially effective in clear water. The lure has enough presence due to its size, yet it avoids unnatural over-appeal. This makes even big, cautious bass misjudge and bite. Without the included sinker, it can be left floating on the surface. With the 3.5g sinker attached, you can dead-stick it on the bottom as well.
2. Steady Retrieve : Creates the look of a real baitfish swimming. Only the tail swings left and right, giving a subtle action that doesn’t over-appeal but still triggers following bass to strike. Works from dead-slow to fast retrieves. You can control the depth by adjusting the sinker weight.
Recommended Tackle
Rod : 7ft baitcasting rod, MH to H power
Line : 14–20 lb fluorocarbon
Hooks : Hayabusa Ken Claw (Front #2, Rear #3)
Storage Instructions
When not in use, remove the special pin and store the head and soft-material body separately in the dedicated package. If they are kept in contact for long periods, the head may develop chemical cracks. We take great care in quality control, but we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in preventing this risk.
